We are facing a problem in the production process related to CI ISL32455EIUZ. There are several communication failures between devices (Device1-PRIX with ISL32455EIUZ versus Device2-MGR with ISL83072EIUZA).
The problem occurs when the component with batch 2455E/G2AZE is used. By replacing the component with batch 2455E/G3BQQ, the failures stop:
The communication scheme between the hardware (PRIX vs MGR) can be seen in the following figure:
OBS.: There is a 120ohm esistor between A and B
Using a logic analyzer, I was able to see differences between the IC signals (batch G2AZE vs lot G3BQQ).
Signals with G2AZE batch (With problem):
Signals with batch G3BQQ (No problem):
Comparing the images, it is possible to notice that the RX-PRIX signal (RO-ISL32455EIUZ) is at logic level 0 in the problem condition (G2AZE) while it is at logic level 1 with G3BQQ:
Comparing signals A and B between the batches, I could notice a difference between them.
Differential signals (A-B) with G2AZE batch (With problem):
Differential signals (A-B) with G3BQQbatch (No problem):
Now comparing signals A and B simultaneously.
Signals A (Blue in the waveform) and B (Yellow in the waveform) with G2AZE batch (With problem):
Signals A (Blue in the waveform) and B (Yellow) with batch G3BQQ (No problem):
It appears that there is a DC level on both signals (A and B) with the G2AZE batch component (Problem).
I measured the resistance between A-GND and B-GND, and found differences in the measured value:
Resistance with batch G2AZE (With problem):
Resistance with batch G3BQQ (No problem):
Could you tell me if this is a batch problem? Is there a way to fix the problem?
Thanks You!
I see you submitted a ticket into our technical support system about this same issue, Ticket #381994. I already replied to that ticket that we need proof of purchase from an authorized distributor for the batch G2AZE as I could not locate that as a valid trace code in our internal semiconductor database.
I will close out this Forum request since you already submitted a ticket on this.
