Hi,
one of our new devices is designed with the FS2012 flow sensor, and now that we are moving it to production we find it is "Not recommended for new designs"
Thats very very unfortunate, our products usually have a "sales lifetime" of 10 years, and we support them much longer.
The obvious question is: what could replace this sensor? We measure up to 2 liters / minute of air, at max pressure of 1.4 bar.
I have searched the Renesas catalog but nothing even comes close.
Richard
Also looking for a replacement for FS2012-1100-NG. It is discontinued. Any products can be used to replace it?
Hello sir,
We would appreciate it if you could please post new threads, if you have any new questions instead of commenting the old threads. By this way you will help us organize better our work.
However to answer your question, no unfortunately there are no plans to release any new gas flow sensors soon to replace the discontinued ones.
The only alternative, I could suggest you on this is the FS3000 air velocity sensor: https://www.renesas.com/en/products/sensor-products/flow-sensors/fs3000-air-velocity-sensor-module#overview.
This sensor might be measuring the air velocity in m/s however if you pass your gas through a tube for example with a known diameter and by knowing the cross section area you are passing the gas through. You can make some assumptions and calculations to get the flow rate in L/min from the air velocity measured by the sensor.

That is strange. I got the opposite answer from my query to support people.Could you please check again?

Can you please check my private message and reply me back?
Thanks and Regards,
