ZMOD4510 Stopping measurements

Hi, what is the correct way to stop the ZMOD4510 measurements and then restart? It is necessary to init the sensor and the library again in order to reset the data structures?

Thanks

  • Hello Matteo,

In general yes it is suggested that after reset you re-init the algo and you follow the flow as it is mentioned in the programming manual of ZMOD4510 (https://www.renesas.com/en/document/mat/zmod4510-programming-manual-read-me?r=463746). Depending the operation mode you follow.

Here it is very important to know and for how long this power-off will last. In case the sensor is loosing power for a long time and the algorithm is not re-initialized it is very possible that you  won't get reliable measurements.

In general we do not suggest resetting or powering-off the sensor, because as long as the sensor stays powered-on and the more the algorithm is getting trained the better measurement results you get.

Even and in cases where low power consumption is a requirement for the system, we do not suggest powering off the sensor. And thus we provide ULP libraries with different sample rate to have less power consumption.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.
