Wireless charging IC - P9243-GB / Full Bridge LC Circuit

Hi Renesas,

I have been reading about the implementation of the P9243-GB, in the data sheet and in the typical application, you made use of a buck to accommodate a wide range of input voltages and to regulate the input voltage of the Full bridge LC circuits.

the GPIO_B7 of the P9243, generates a PWM signal that is applied on top of the feedback pin of the buck regulator through a low-pass filter to fine-tune the output voltage of the buck regulator. Thus, the output of the step-down buck regulator is connected to the input of the P9243-GB full-bridge inverter.

To respond to an increase or decrease in the power request from receiver, the P9243-GB regulates the duty ratio of the PWM signal accordingly.

Q1. If in my application I need to use the extended power profile (EPP) mode, what is the minimum input voltage that the full bridge needs?

Q2. If a voltage range is needed to respond to an increase or decrease in receiver power request, what range should I ensure in the full bridge input voltage? (this taking into account that GPIO_B7 generates a PWM signal that is applied on top of the feedback pin of the buck regulator through a low-pass filter to fine-tune the output voltage of the buck regulator.)

Thanks.

  • Hi There, thanks for your question. AT this time, we're limited to supporting major consumer clients on wireless charging.   I notice that you've posted a couple of questions via our myRenesas portal where the team will respond . Thanks John
