Has anyone used an external Debugger with the EK-RA8D1? I have tried a J-link Plus connected J13 and I have tried a J-Link LITE connected to J20. I have jumpers J6 & J9 and all of J29 installed. J8 is installed on pins 1&2. I have tried with the EK powered through J10 or through J11 (Device mode).
I get a message like this:
I am designing my own RA8D1 board, and I want to verify the pins for an external debugger.
Any insight would be appreciated!
Hello,
I have tested with J-Link Base in Debug In mode and it is working fine.
Your jumper configurations are correct. Have you checked the power supply ? Power can be given from J10.
When you click on 'Debug' and J10 is also connected, a window opens to select the J-Link debugger to be used. Make sure you select the external debugger on this window.
What is a J-Link Base? What connector are you using for J-Link - J20 or J13? I have connected a 5V bench power supply to TP7 and TP9 - power should not be an issue.
When connecting power to J10, I never saw a window to select which debugger. If J9 is installed (holding U7 in reset), how would e2 studio detect 2 debuggers? Your response is inconsistent.
