I doubt there is a reference code. But do check Applilet3 which has an option to generate code for Sound Generator.

If you are asking about the tone signal,

The tone signal is generated by the compare match signal of the SG0FH counter value with the value of the SG0FH buffer, followed by a by-two-divider. At each compare match, the counter is reset to zero

The frequency data registers SG0FL and SG0FH provide the buffer values for the counters. The combined value represents the frequency of the tone. You can check the individual registers in the hardware reference manual for the deivce.
