I am having issue with the IPS2200 board. I have my circuit board made and trying to test the encoder with no success. I know I have to spec CT1 and CT2 capacitors using the formula provided. The formula needs to have a value for L but I am not sure how to get the value?
I used the ICD tool from Renesas to create the coil and nowhere it says the value of coil inductance.
When I power up the board and spin the target board, there is no Sin or Cosine waves.
See below for board drawing and pdf schematic.

Hi Raja,
Thank you for your reply. Wouyld you know if there would be someone giveing us some assistance regarding this matter soon?
I have a couple of questions regarding your project. Could you please tell me the end application of your project?
Depending on the business case, LTV, we also design coil for customer specification/ or provide help regarding that. That will be more precise/accurate.
Raja.
This encoder will be used to provide feedback for a stepper motor which is has a gear ration of 80:1.
I have followed all the proper instructions to design the board but I believe I am missing something. When I power the board up there is no output. The suggested circuit from Renesas uses Ct1 and Ct2. How do I know what the value of my coil is in order to properly calculate the values of Ct1 and Ct2?
Also, is the chip pre-programmed? Or do we have to program the chip before we use it?
Can we have a Zoom or Teams meeting to chat about our project?
Thanks for the patience. Sorry for the long reply. Please see the response from factory apps teams:
This design has multiple issues. Have you tried to program the IC with basic settings. On the top we do not know the PCB stack nor the layout etc. Connections are very far apart.
You must open the coil and ideally put them as close as possible.
Additional comments:
You should cover the hole the Top Layer and Inner 1 Layer completely in copper, otherwise you will have linearity issues.

So, we would suggest that please go through the points and notes carefully. If problem persists so, please create ticket for better level support (one to one).
Hi Raj,
I would like to have one to one support because I am not sure what this means.
Thanks you
Ali
How do I get the one to one support?
Thanks for the response. You can submit a ticket. Please click on the below link:

I order to calculate the value of C1 and C2 which are the 2 C adjust capacitors I need to know the value of inductance of the coil. How do I calculate the value of the inductance of the coil?
Can you please help me with that?
Thanks for the update. The Inductance value (Ltx) can be estimated by ICOT tool or measured directly on the PCB (LC meter). The Iductance value should lie in the range of 1.5uH to 30uH (for best practice).
