Hello.
When using IPS2200, if I2C Write is prohibited, is there a way to reset it?
If Cyber Security is activated (Bit 6 of Register 0x01/ 0x21 System Configuration 2), Register Write is no longer possible, making it difficult to use the chip.
If Cyber Security is activated, is there a way to change it back to disabled?
Hello sir,
Thanks for reaching out Renesas Engineering Community.
In the datasheet of the specific sensor products it mentions that:
If this bit is set no further writing is available. So I assume that this is permanent and you cannot reset this security feature.
However let me check with the Application Engineering team to find out if there is any way that you can initialize the sensor back to default and reset also this security feature.
Since it looks like that you cannot rewrite for sure this register since only I2C/SPI read is available when this bit is set.
Let me double-check and let you know.
Best Regards,
IK
Let me provide you the feedback I received about this from the Application Engineering Team:
Once this bit is flipped to read only, then there is no more option to write again. This is the expected function of this bit. If you have locked it before calibrating or programming the chip, the chip unit needs to be scrapped and replaced with a new one.
