After more than two years of writing about microcontrollers (MCUs) as Doctor Micro, this will be my last article. Not to worry we have an industry veteran waiting in the wings so you will still get a steady flow of quality information. But I'll take this opportunity to say thanks for reading, tell you about my future plans, and introduce your new doctor.
It's certainly been my pleasure to write the Doctor Micro blog. I've enjoyed the interaction with you the readers and an incredible group of helpful and smart people at Renesas. It's been a lot of fun digging into the technology embedded within the latest MCUs and sharing my thoughts on it with you.
Alas I took over as Editor-in-Chief of LEDs Magazine in April after running my own consulting business for several years. The LED and lighting space is very exciting right now as we are seeing a change in a technology area that's unprecedented since the transition was made to electrical lighting. And guess what? A lot of LED light fixtures and even retrofit lamps manage to integrate an MCU. I simply had to take the opportunity to work in this exciting area, and once again have the responsibility of guiding the technical direction of a magazine.
Stepping in will be long-time industry veteran John Donovan. You probably know John's work. He's written for a number of major industry trade magazines and run his own Low-Power Design website. I can vouch personally for John's cred. We were once colleagues at EDN Magazine, and I worked with John regularly when he was at Cypress. He will deliver the goods so you will be in good hands.

Best of luck to you, maurywright, in your new endeavour. Welcome, John!
