50% Discount Coupons for AE-CLOUD1, WiFi Module, SEGGER Debugger, and S5D9

Coupons are available for 50% off the AE-CLOUD1 Kit, AE-Wi-Fi module, S5D9 IoT Fast Prototyping Kit and SEGGER J-Link debugger. You can apply the coupon to multiple Renesas products in the same shopping cart. You can also buy multiple units of the same product to save on shipping costs.

To get a coupon, send a note to Jesse Casman ([email protected]).

We have a lot of development tutorials for the S5D9 IoT Fast Prototyping Kit that is included with the AE-CLOUD1 kit. If you already have a S5D9 IoT Fast Prototyping Kit, you can buy the WiFi module or debugger separately and connect them to your existing board. You will need the debugger to use the binary that allows the WiFi module to connect to the IoT Sandbox.  See the article Renesas AE-CLOUD1 Factory Reset article to change the binary on your S5D9 IoT Fast Prototyping Kit to the binary that shipped with the AE-CLOUD1 kit.

  • Hi Jesse,

I'm interested in getting the coupon mentioned above for the AE-CLOUD1 and related products if they are still available.

I’ve been spending a good deal of time learning the in’s and outs of e2 Studio/SSP 1.3.x with my current S5D9 boards (thanks again for the $20 off coupon back in December) and think having the debug and WiFi capability would be very handy.

    Regards,
    Anthony

  • Anthony,

Fantastic, great to hear that you're making progress. What kind of project are you working on?

Sending the coupon code to you directly in email. Enjoy!

  • This is an awesome offer and the kit looks like a great way to get familiar with the Synergy platform. I heard about the 50% discount on the AE-CLOUD1 kit on the IoT Podcast with Stacey Higginbotham and Kevin Tofel and had to check this out myself. Is there a particular criteria to qualify for the 50% Discount? Are there any special requirements to get up and running with one of the supported Cloud Service Providers?

    Thanks,

    Jon
  • JonM, There no special criteria to qualify for the coupon. Send [email protected] and he'll send you a coupon. It's good for 50% off multiple products in the shopping cart.

The board ships with connection to the Renesas IoT Sandbox. There's no special requirement. Use is free for development. To use the board with AWS, Azure, Google, you'll need a Windows 10 machine to compile the code and some standard USB cables. To be honest, it's easier for me to use the Renesas IoT Sandbox right now as I'm still learning about the Synergy Enterprise Cloud Toolbox (SECT), which is what you need to connect to AWS, Google, Azure. The code for SECT is also freely downloadable.

Let me know if you have any questions.

  • JonM, responded in email, let me know if it doesn't come through. What are you thinking of building?
  • Jesse,

    Awesome! Coupon has been received.

As I mentioned in my email to you, as far as what I am looking to build, I have a couple of IoT and IIoT Robotic ideas and I am looking for the product that is the right fit. The AE-Cloud1 kit offers a chance to check out the Synergy Platform and the Wi-Fi connectivity offers an option to send data to a cloud or off system area for further processing. The 6-axis digital compass and environmental options would be perfect for collecting data associated with the local area of the device. I would certainly be looking to add MQTT so the AE-CLOUD1 could communicate with other nodes.

Element14 does RoadTest reviews for other products, so I was wondering if Renesas has thought about doing something similar with the AE-CLOUD1 kit?
