I am evaluating the RX62 processor for a project, specifically the R5F562N8BDFP. I'm trying to find the relevant information on what support is available for the firmware creation.
This processor doesn't seem to be supported by the Smart Configurator for RX which is worrying.
If no pin map files are produced can any of the auto code generation advertised in e2studio work?
I might be missing something, but there doesn't seem to be an overview of what tools should be used for what.
Any help appreciated.
RX62 devices were some of the first RX devices released, and the early tools for development were a bit different than what is currently available for the more recent parts.
Looking at the RX62N web page…
Looking at the RX62N web page, there was a peripheral driver available for these early devices:
Peripheral Driver Generator V.2.09 (for the RX Family)
Is there a particular reason you are considering RX62 over one of the more recent RX devices with similar features?
I believe that RX671 is the appropriate device to consider, you can reference the Differences Between the RX671 Group and the RX62N Group migration guide for details.
Thanks Jim.
We have older products using that processor, so it's partly a supply issue. But noted on the support for it. Will look at whether we move on to RX671.
I'll have a look at the Peripheral Driver Generator and see what it offers, thanks.
