Receiver on period after Advertisement

With the DA14531 SDK, is there a way to change the time the receiver is on, after an advertisement, while it waits for a Scan Request or connection?

We're testing with a lot of devices, both advertisers and gateways, and if an advertiser receives one or more scan requests, after an advertisement and our gateway is trying to connect it has to wait and then times out.
