Hi,
after upgrading my operating system from Windows 10 to 11, the cli programmer no longer works in SmartSnippets Studio. There is another Thread on here discussing the same issue, but I was asked to start a new one. I am using SmartSnippets Studio 1.6.3, as this is recommended for the DA14683.
What can I do to resolve this issue?
Best regards,
Gunther

Unfortunately, there is no plans yet to support SmartSnippets Studio for Windows 11.I would suggest you use a Virtual Box and work with Linux. On Section 1.2 Fresh Install in Linux:Best Regards,OV_Renesas
Thanks for your answer, that's very disappointing. With the support of Windows 10 ending next year, I guess we will have to look for other solutions. It's very suprising to me how the standard operating system will not be supported.
HI Gunther,Thank you for the reply.

The end goal is for the e2 Studio IDE to be used for all our Renesas products. Please refer on e² studio 2024-10 Release Note (renesas.com)The DA1468x will be added on the e2 Studio IDE in one of the next releases. The e2 Studio is supported on Win10 and Win11Best Regards,OV_Renesas
We are currently mass-producing a product equipped with the DA14682.
As Windows 10 is reaching end-of-life, we are transitioning to a Windows 11 environment. However, we were surprised to learn that the command line interface is no longer supported on Windows 11.
Our product does not only contain the DA14682, and it has sever other MCUs so the production program includes firmware flashing and functional testing as a single integrated process.
If CLI-based firmware flashing is no longer possible, it would be extremely difficult to modify our existing production workflow.
Is there any alternative to using a virtual environment? We kindly request more active support on this matter.
Hi Noah,Thank you for the reply. Please use the SmartSnippets Toolbox: SmartBond Development Tools | RenesasThe SmartSnippets Studio will no longer be supported since all of our products are migrated into e2 Studio. However, CLI is also available on SmartSnippets Toolbox. Please refer here: UM-B-083 SmartSnippets Toolbox — UM-B-083and here: 8. CLI implementation — UM-B-083Best Regards,OV_Renesas
Does it mean I can use CLI in Windows 11 as well as Windows 10?
So, can I take this to mean that this ticket is resolved since Renesas has added support for using CLI on Windows 11?
Hi Noah,Thank you for the reply.

Yes, you are going to be able to use CLI on Win 11 as well as Win 10.However, you will not be able to use SmartSnippets Studio on Win11 but only e2 Studio as your IDE.For mass production you should also refer on DA14580PRODTLKT - Bluetooth Low Energy SoC 16-site SmartBond Production Line Tool Kit | RenesasBest Regards,OV_Renesas
Hi.
I don't quite understand.. We use the cli_programmer.c program. To be exact, the program we are using now is "cli_programmer124.exe" This version does not work on windows 11.
Is there a version of "cli_programmer" that supports windows 11? Where can I download it?
regards.
Noah.
Hi Noah,Please download the SmartSnippets Toolbox from here: SmartBond Development Tools | RenesasThen from your installation folder you can use the SmartSnippetsToolbox.exe file the same way you used the cli_programmer124.exe and use the Command Line Interface.Best Regards,OV_Renesas
