Hello,

I'm currently working with the DA16200MOD and using the DA16200_DA16600_FreeRTOS_SDK_v3.2.9.2.

Is it possible to start an HTTP server while the DA16200 is in Soft AP mode?
For example, if I set the IP address of the DA16200 to 10.10.0.1 in Soft AP mode, is it possible to run an HTTP server and serve a web page when accessing 10.10.0.1 from a browser?

Any guidance or code snippets would be very helpful.

Note: I am not using AT commands. I am working directly with the DA16200 API functions provided in the SDK.

    From our side we had tested HTTP Server in Soft AP Mode in the past and we did not see any issues. 
    IF you want to start HTTP Server at Soft AP mode without ATCMD, you have to enter "http-server start" in the UART0 (Debug Console interface) then you can access the index.html of the server.

    Did you face any specific issues while trying to implement this?

    Thank you very much for your reply.

    My idea is to have a single button, and if that button is pressed during startup, I want to set the DA16200 to Soft AP mode. If the button is not pressed, the DA16200 should perform its normal functionality (for example, measuring and displaying temperature).
    The Soft AP mode would be used only for setting Wi-Fi credentials and other configuration settings using web page (http server). So, I hope it's possible to change the Wi-Fi mode using some SDK function?

    What I need is a captive portal, as I mentioned earlier. This means that the DA16200 should be in Soft AP mode, and when I connect to its access point, a web page should automatically open in the browser (with the HTTP server running) at the IP address of the DA16200 Soft AP.

    For example, in the figure below, you can see that I have set the IP address of the DA16200 in Soft AP mode to 10.10.0.1, and the HTTP server has started.

    However, when I connect to its AP and enter 10.10.0.1 in the browser, the web page is not served.

    If nothing else, is there a way to set the IP address of the HTTP server so that it only runs on the IP address I assigned?

    I also attempted to enter the command you suggested, but I received a 'no such command' error.

    Based on the UART0 logs you shared the HTTP Server was already started. The command can be used on the Getting Started example where the HTTP Server is not automatically started.

    From my understanding, it is only possible to set a specific IP address when you are working with HTTP Client.
    For the HTTP Server you could try to modify on the httpd.c file:

    Hello

    I'm still unable to solve the issue with starting the HTTP server in Soft AP mode. Although I have information indicating that the HTTP server is running, it doesn't respond when I try to access the board's Soft AP IP address. Please analyze this issue again and try to help me.

    When the board is in station mode and I start the server in the same way, the server responds to the IP address assigned to the board by the router via DHCP. However, when I put the board in Soft AP mode and set its IP address to, for example, 10.10.0.5, and start the server in the same way, it does not respond!

    Also, I noticed that even in the "Getting Started" example, there is no command for me to explicitly start the HTTP server.

    Hi Df,

    Apologies for the delay.
    Our Wi-Fi Support Engineers tested it on their side and everything works fine.
    We are not sure what is different from your test. It should work and we just build the HTTP Server example on the FreeRTOS SDK v3.9.2.0.

    We then checked again for the specific IP of 10.10.0.1 and it works as well:


    If you could provide your image (FRTOS) or the whole SDK, we could try to recreate your issue.

    We would also like to suggest checking for the ping test if it is reachable or not. It could be good to test with mobile or another PC.

    Hi,

    It's working now! The issue was that I hadn't configured DHCP for Soft AP mode, which likely caused a conflict with IP addresses. Now everything is working fine.
